Barbs

Freshwater Aquarium Barbs are colorful, active fish, originally found in rivers and lakes of Asia and Africa. There are several varieties that differ in size, color, and behavior. Popular types include the Tiger Barb, Cherry Barb, and Rosy Barb. Tiger Barbs are known for their bold black stripes, while Cherry Barbs have a reddish hue, and Rosy Barbs have a delicate pinkish tint.

Barbs generally share a social, schooling nature but can vary in aggression. For instance, Tiger Barbs are known to nip at other fish, while Cherry Barbs are more peaceful. They all prefer well-maintained tanks with plenty of space and hiding spots.

Before adopting a Barb, consider their need for community fish with similar temperaments and the right tank size. They can be challenging to own due to their tendency to be territorial, especially in small groups.
